The Editor was a member of the Children's Awareness of Technology (CHAT) working group which brought together researchers from early childhood education and developmental psychology to support the Experimental School Environments programme.
The central role of CHAT was to collaborate in the development of improved understandings of children's learning associated with the wide range of information and communications technologies that were applied in the projects. John Siraj-Blatchford is a Lecturer at the University of Cambridge and an Associate Director of the ESRC Teaching and Learning Research programme.
He has extensive experience in teaching and in researching science and technology in early childhood. His current research includes a European evaluation of the IBM KidSmart early childhood initiative, and a study of the ICT training needs of early years practitioners in five countries. He is the author of numerous academic papers and articles, and several books.
These include: A curriculum development guide to ICT in Early Childhood Education (with Iram Siraj-Blatchford), published by Trentham Books in collaboration with Early Education (The British Association for Early Childhood Education).
